The song "Houston" from the Deadstring Brothers' recent album Sao Paulo will be on the ABC show "Scoundrels" this Sunday, August 8th.

Check for your local listings.

Personally, we're usually too busy on Sunday nights with our feet in the kiddie pool and our mitts wrapped around an icy mojito to be inside watching TV.  We'll make an effort, though, to dry off our feet and dash inside and watch and listen.

The Deadstring Brothers songs "Smile" and "The River Song" (from their
album Sao Paulo) will be featured in the ABC show Scoundrels on July 11th.

Check your listings for show times.  We don't watch much TV around here.  Are there vampires in this one?  Or is it a weight loss dance contest?  Will crimes be solved using space age technology beyond the budgets of any real life police department?

We get confused easily.

Check out THIS article in the huge industry mouthpiece BILLBOARD on Nora O'Connor. She talks about recording with Jeff Tweedy and Mavis Staples for an upcoming record, touring with Jakob Dylan and where she's been the past few years.

HERE is a video of Nora and Kelly Hogan singing with a "nice-smelling" Jakob Dylan on the Craig Ferguson show.  If you look carefully in the background you'll see Jon Rauhouse on pedal steel and Tom Ray on bass hiding behind their comically large beards.

JUSTIN TOWNES EARLE TO APPEAR ON A PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION AND HBO’S “TREME” THIS WEEKEND

Set your radios and DVRs for this weekend. Saturday, Justin Townes Earle will appear on Public Radio’s A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor. A longtime public radio favorite, PHC live this weekend from NYC’s Town Hall. Justin appears along with Broadway actress Kate Beahen and folk singer Heather Masse. Sunday, Justin appears – and performs – on HBO’s Treme.

We can't say a ton, but here's what we can tell you: Justin appears on the episode with his dad, Steve Earle. There's acting. There's performing. And it all starts Sunday night at 10pm EST/9pm CST on HBO.

Treme is the latest effort from David Simon and Eric Overmyer, collaborators on TV shows like The Wire and Homicide: Life on the Street. Set in post-Katrina New Orleans, Treme looks at ordinary people as they try to rebuild their lives, homes, and culture in the aftermath of the hurricane. The series has boasted quite a few amazing musical guests, including Elvis Costello, Allen Toussaint, Dr. John, Galactic, Kermit Ruffins, and the Rebirth Brass Band.

A few weeks ago, Nan and Rob appeared on Chicago's own talk show The Interview Show in front of, as they say in the TV biz, a LIVE STUDIO AUDIENCE (or, in this case, The Hideout).

Now it's been edited and posted on the Huffington Post.  Have a gander at Nan's silver space lady boots and purple hair.  Marvel at the oddly placed microphone that hides most of Rob's face, but not his dry wit.  Listen as they talk of the cruel vicissitudes of the music racket and check out the Blacks performance
