SYGC in Van Accident

We are saddened to announce that The Scotland Yard Gospel Choir was in a serious auto accident today. They are in hospitals receiving medical attention; most of them being treated for minor injuries. We will post more information as we can. Our thoughts are with them.

UPDATE (9/25): Ethan, Jay and Alison were treated and released from the hospital.

UPDATE (9/25): To offset medical and equipment expenses, a PayPal donation account has been set up in the band's name:

UPDATE (9/26): Mark's condition is improving -- he has been upgraded from Critical to Serious condition.

UPDATE (9/27): Elia was released from Jasper County Hospital on Sunday; both Mary and Mark remain in hospitals -- but are improving.

UPDATE (9/27): Friends of the band have uploaded this sweet video of an Opportunity School song by written by Mary and engineered by Mark.

UPDATE (10/1): All 2009 tour dates have been cancelled. The Halloween show at Sub-T is now a benefit for the band. We'll have details on more benefits next week.

UPDATE (10/2): We've had some people ask about instrument donations (you guys are so awesome!), so here's a partial list of damaged SYGC equipment that needs to be replaced:

Taylor 12 string acoustic guitar (not sure of model)
Roland KC300 keyboard amp
Premier drum kit
White Gibson Melody Maker electric guitar
Handmade violin

If you have something you'd like to donate, please contact Nan: nan@bloodshotrecords.com

UPDATE (10/2): Mark had another successful surgery yesterday, but remains in serious condition.

UPDATE (10/12):
Great news! Mark has been transferred out of ICU.

UPDATE (10/14):
Mary is leaving the hospital today -- she says, "I've still got a lot of physical and occupational therapy in my future, but I've progressed to walking with a cane already."

UPDATED (11/11): Mark is walking!

Everyone is really sorry to hear this news, after all the SYGC had always been great performers, this was not supposed to happen to SYGC, if they had their saftey placed in proper manners, along with this accident SYGC has also suffered a massive loss of their cash amount, as a payment of the victims who were injured during the accident.

get better soon!

Dear SYGC,

Sorry to hear about the accident.  I hope that you are all well very, very soon.  I'm sending you all positive vibes - they are 100% guaranteed.

Elia - you upset my mom by getting hurt; how dare you! you'd better get over here and show her that you're ok, and promise to never get hurt again.  you're ruining it for the rest of us - she won't even let me play nerf football while encased in bubble wrap.

With love, and cocoa mousse cake,

Jack

sygc - donations

We're accepting donations at the store, if that's any easier for anyone.  I'm sure that the Buzz Cafe where Mary works would do the same.

Thanks for keeping us all posted

Kisses to make it feel better!

What terrible news to receive yesterday-- we were so shocked and sad to hear it.

So sweet of all your friends and family and fans to have stepped up to help support you through it all.. more then happy to be counted amongst them.

Glad to hear everyone is doing better, bit by bit.  Please let us know if there's anything else we can do.

Hearts,

My heartfelt wishes for

My heartfelt wishes for everyone's recovery.  Mark, we are especially praying for you and your family.

All of our best thoughts from Cincinnati!!

Such horrible news, and we were so looking forward to your show at Midpoint.

Best wishes, get well soon, you are all in our thoughts!

Hey, Elia it's your banjo teacher

Peace to you and all of your bandmates.  I played a track from your new album on WLUW on Wednesday afternoon.  Your spirit has moved through the universe through your music and your life.

I remeber Saturday afternoon meetings on Racine.  I have not gone to them, but I could nowadays.  My cleanliness is next to Godliness.

I wish you the best, and I can spare an electric guitar if you need one.

Love and grace,

David Bragman

Thinking of You

I'm just heartbroken over this!

Started today's show with SYGC, with a cut from when they were in to play live on my show! I'm crossing everything from paws to toes in the family, that everyone heals well, without further incident and completely! Razor and I send positive healing friendship vibes to the band (and their families, who must be going thru so much!) We hope to see every member up and about soon soon soon! And on our show to celebrate when all is said and done!

Many hugs and kisses to SYGC, their families and all of the Bloodshot bunch.

Here's to a speedy recovery

We'll spill some from our cups tonight and think of you all. Hope you're in good health soon, I'll give what I can and try to pry some dollars out of whoever will listen.

SYGC

My heartfelt best wishes to the whole band.  My old band had the pleasure of sharing a gig with Mary when she was with The Expatriates at Elbo Room, and I recently met the rest of the gang by happenstance at Pick Me Up Cafe.  They are truly wonderful people and I wish them the speediest of recoveries.
